The nutrition is critical during the first 5 years, but especially during the first 12 months of life. This has been confirmed by the latest studies and the new government programs that are trying to improve nutrition in daycares and schools across our country.
Our menu is prepared exclusively for our babies and children. Our baby food is made from fresh fruits and vegetables pureed. The menu for children older than one is based on Latin-American recipes and it goes above and beyond the minimal USDA requirements. Our dishes are served warm. We do not use pre-cooked, frozen, or high fat meals.
There are many cognitive benefits for young children who are exposed to more than one language. Our bilingual program is incorporated in each of our classrooms with a strong influence in our preschool and pre-kindergarten programs. As sequential learners, they are introduced to Spanish through vocabulary words, nursery rhymes, stories, songs, and key phrases and questions that are used in the classroom on a daily basis.
Our program has many opportunities for children to extend their Spanish speaking abilities and immerse themselves through play and exploration. Our bilingual teachers plan and implement activities that will provide opportunities to converse and learn by listening, seeing, imitating, and practicing.
